Jeffrey James Scribner, 38, has been charged with one count of sexual intercourse without consent after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in July of 2017.

According to court documents, Scribner met the victim through a mutual acquaintance, and reportedly offered her the extra bed in his hotel room because she needed a place to stay.

Prosecutors said the victim fell asleep on the bed, but later woke up with some of her clothing removed and Scribner sexually assaulting her.

Court records state the woman tried to stop Scribner by kneeing him in the groin.

When questioned, Scribner told police it was consensual.

Justice of the Peace Michael Swingley set Scribner's bond at $50,000. He is scheduled to be arraigned on June 27.
