Road and school closures announced

Weather conditions in eastern Montana continue to impact roads and schools as closures are announced for Tuesday.

As of 10:30 p.m., severe road conditions were listed for the following highways:

  • Highway 16 from the Canadian border to Savage
  • Highway 200 from Circle to Sidney
  • Highway 2 from Poplar to the border of North Dakota
  • Highway 191 from the Canadian border to Chinook
  • Highway 248 from Opheim to Scobey

The following roads are currently closed:

  • Highway 191 from Malta to the intersection of Highway 66
  • The Zurich Canadian Road from the border to Zurich
  • Highway 5 from Plentywood to the border of North Dakota
  • Highway 7 from Wibaux to Ekalaka
  • Highway 12 from Miles City to the border of North Dakota
  • Highway 89 from St. Mary to almost Browning

The following schools have announced closures or adjusted schedules for Tuesday:

  • Hays Lodgepole Public Schools - CLOSED
  • Hinsdale Public Schools - CLOSED
  • Harlem Public Schools will be in session, however, only the South Main, Old Hospital, small bus, and Tribal Courts bus routes will run.
  • Glasgow Public Schools will start at the regular time but rural buses will run two hours later than normal. The in-town Southside Shuttle will run as normal.
