Bear Paw Ski Bowl outside of Havre is open for the first time in three years.
Although the high winds forced the ski area to close their lifts on Sunday, the season's snow has been good news overall.
Video posted to its Facebook page showed skiers and snowboarders enjoying fresh powder earlier this month shortly after it opened.
Manager David Martens said even though they lost customers due to the lack of snow in the past, he’s hopeful they’ll bounce back.
“We lost two years and lost our instructors, so we’re just starting to rebuild up," he said. "For a small community like Havre to have a ski area is incredible and to be in this beautiful spot. You know, it’s probably the most beautiful spot in Eastern Montana is out here by the ski area.”
Bear Paw Ski Bowl is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. depending on the weather.
