STEVENSVILLE - A juvenile is now facing a felony charge following a Friday threat at Stevensville High School.

Stevensville Police Chief James Marble says the department learned of a threat made by a student to harm staff and students at the Stevensville High School.

The Ravalli County Sheriff’s Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Stevensville Police Department then investigated the threat.

Chief Marble says following the investigation a juvenile male was arrested and is facing a felony intimidation charge.

There no longer is a perceived threat in the Stevensville schools district, according to Chief Marble.

STEVENSVILLE - Authorities are looking into threatening statements made at Stevensville High School.

Stevensville Schools Superintendent Robert Moore says that administrators learned about statements made by students potentially involving threats to other students and the school on Friday morning.

"We take all potential threats seriously and immediately reported the information to law enforcement.  We are cooperating with law enforcement who is leading the investigation.  At no time were any students or staff members in danger," Moore said in a statement.

He added that there will be extra law enforcement officers on campus Friday and there will be no open campus during lunch.

Moore is urging folks to report any concerns about threats made against schools in the District. He added in an email that they will take any statement that is potentially threatening seriously even if made in jest.
