Weekend starts dangerously cold, finishes with more snow

Find something to do indoors this weekend because it's going to be brutal outside.

Temperatures are expected to dip down to near -20° on Friday night with wind chills falling to near -45° along the Hi-Line in northern Montana.

That dangerously cold air could lead to frostbite and hypothermia within 30 minutes, so you need to make sure you cover any exposed skin before venturing outdoors.

Chinook winds will develop along the Rocky Mountain Front on Saturday, so cities and towns adjacent to the Rockies will warm into the 20s. Elsewhere, it's expected to remain very cold.

STORMTracker meteorologist Mike Rawlins says the next round of snow will arrive on Sunday, with light snow developing across central Montana, moving south during the evening-overnight hours.

Most places are expected to pick up 1-3" of snow through early Monday.
