Police were called to the 900 block of 2nd Avenue South in Great Falls on Friday morning for a disturbance, and learned that shots had been fired.
When police arrived, there was a man with a gunshot wound; he was taken to a hospital.
At last report, he was being treated for a wound in his upper leg.
Several shots were fired, according to the Great Falls Police Department, and the victim was hit at least once.
Police have a man in custody and are questioning witnesses.
The name of the suspect has not yet been released.
The GFPD says that a weapon was recovered at the scene.
The area around the scene was blocked off for several hours as police investigated.
