Winter weather returning Friday and through Super Bowl weekend

Posted: Feb 01, 2018 10:24 AM Updated:

A wind chill advisory is in effect for the Hi Line until noon today. If you are going outside, bundle up! Frost bite can happen as fast as 30 minutes to exposed skin in these conditions. Snow/rain returns to the area tonight and remaining for the rest of the weekend.

A winter weather advisory is in effect for Great Falls and Helena from Friday 2/2 at 2 AM until Saturday 2/3 at 2 AM. Be aware of hazardous travel. Give yourself extra time to get to your final destination. Areas could see snow, rain, and mixed precipitation throughout the winter weather advisory. Right now, accumulations through Saturday morning look to be 1-3 inches in Great Falls, less than 1 inch in Helena and higher amounts up to a half a foot or more in Lewistown, Jordan, Glasgow and Havre.

The forecast over the weekend and into the beginning of the work week looks to be messy.

Snow is likely for the remainder of the weekend and for your Super Bowl Sunday. Chances of snow/rain continue for the beginning of the work week next week. Some areas could see heavy amounts. The STORMTracker weather team will keep you updated on amounts and timing.
