(JANUARY 25, 2018) Two people and a dog are dead after a house fire in the Emigrant area.
According to Park County Undersheriff Clay Herbst, a 911 call at 4:11 a.m. on Thursday reported that a neighbor’s residence was on fire.
Paradise Valley Fire, Park County Rural Fire, and the Park County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
Fire personnel attempted to make contact with anyone who may be in the home but received no response.
Once the fire was extinguished, two people and one dog were found dead inside.
These two people have not yet been positively identified.
“We’re conducting an investigation on where the fire may have started, how it started, also how the deceased individuals may have passed. And of course, our part as the Sheriff’s Office, if there’s any foul play, if there were any crimes committed, anything like that,” said Herbst.
The Park County Sheriff’s Department says it could take a couple of days before more information on the fire becomes available.
