2 teens arrested in connection with fire

Police say that a 15-year-old and a 14-year old have been charged after fire broke out at the 7th Ave. Gym on Tuesday.

According to police, officers responded to reports of individuals breaking windows at the building just before 6:30 p.m.

Officers learned of the fire while at the scene and alerted the Helena Fire Department.

Police say the 14-year-old was arrested for arson, burglary, and criminal mischief.

The 15-year-old was arrested for burglary and criminal mischief.

Their names have not been released at this point.

Officials have not yet determined the dollar amount of damage.

There were no injuries.

(TUESDAY, JANUARY 30) The Helena Fire Department extinguished a fire at Seventh Avenue Gym near downtown Helena on Tuesday night after reports of smoke.

According to Acting Fire Marshal Lou Antonick, crews responded to the building with two fire engines around 7 p.m.

Firefighters located the fire quickly. There were no signs of damage to the exterior of the building.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The Helena Police Department was also on scene. 

According to Antonick, two people of interest who were in the area are being questioned.
