BILLINGS - A Glendive man will spend six years in federal prison for downloading images and video of child pornography.
Shawn Michael Wentz, 28, will also be on 10 years of supervised release following his sentence issued Thursday by U.S. District Court Judge Susan P. Watters.
He must also forfeit his computer, register as a sex offender and spend 10 years of supervised release following his sentence, according to a Friday release from U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme's office.
Wentz had pleaded guilty in October 2017 of the crimes discovered more than two years earlier by the Montana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and Homeland Security Investigation.
Agents traced downloads of child pornography to a computer at Wentz's home in Glendive, where they later found sexually explicit images of prepubescent children, some as young as 2 years old, engaged in sex acts with adult men, according to Alme.
