A police officer kicked the door down, and saw Skunkcap with a knife in his hand, and blood on the walls and floor of the bathroom.

The victim told police Skunkcap had several knives and blocked the door, and that he threatened to slit her throat and then kill himself.

His trial has been set for April 16th.

(DECEMBER 1, 2017) Ronnie Clay Skunkcap has been charged with six felonies after he allegedly assaulted a woman.

Court documents state that police officers were called to a home on 46th Street Sout on Thursday evening for a "family disturbance."SKUNKCAP

A person came running out of the house and said that Skunkcap was inside and was going to kill the victim. A police officer went inside and saw blood on the stairs leading to the basement, and heard a door slam shut. Officers went downstairs and discovered that Skunkcap had locked himself and the victim in the bathroom, and would not come out. A police officer kicked the door down, and saw Skunkcap with a knife in his hand, and blood on the walls and floor of the bathroom. Skunkcap was then taken into custody.

Court documents state that the victim was in the shower, and told police that Skunkcap had dragged her into the bathroom and forced her into the shower. She said that Skunkcap had several knives and blocked the door, preventing her from leaving, and threatened and terrorized her. She told police that Skunkcap threatened to slit her throat and then kill himself.

The person who had called 911 had to hang-up during the call to run out of the house to protect herself and her children because she feared that Skunkcap had killed the victim, and was afraid that she was next.

The victim told police that prior to the incident in the house, Skunkcap had punched her several time and bit her while they were driving around town with two witnesses in the vehicle. He also reportedly choked her hard enough that the other people in the vehicle heard "gurgling" sounds and heard her gasping for air. The two witnesses tried to help the victim, but Skunkcap threatened them with a box-cutter.

Skunkcap is charged with the following felonies: aggravated kidnapping; partner/family member assault; strangulation of partner/family member; and three counts of assault with a weapon.

Court documents state that Skunkcap has convictions partner/family member assault, theft, and malicious mischief, and note that he was charged with partner/family member assault just six months ago, and was sentenced just four weeks ago to five years of probation. In addition, he was charged with being a fugitive from justice in September 2017.

The court documents concludes:

To summarize, the Defendant was just sentenced for similar conduct less than one month ago. He has four prior partner/family members assaults, two of which were felonies. He has five prior felonies in total. He had numerous parole violations, which is indicative of his inability to follow court-imposed conditions. Also indicative of his inability to follow conditions of release is the commission of this very serious offense while on probation. The Defendant is a danger to the community and a very substantial danger to this particular victim. Therefore the state requests bond in the amount of $100,000.
