Paul's Holiday Wish continued to be fulfilled on Saturday night as Great Falls Fire Rescue delivered one of their Christmas packages to a family.
Jeanne Thibert, her daughter, and two granddaughters received a Christmas meal and gifts as part of the program named after the late firefighter Paul Erickson.
Erickson died at the age of 33 in a Mercy Flight crash in 2007. In addition to Paul, two other people died in the crash near Belgrade: Vince Kirol, the pilot; and Darcy Dengel, a nurse.
Paul was a member of the Great Falls Fire Rescue family, and known to many as a generous guy.
Through Paul's Holiday Wish, firefighters were able to help 23 families during the holiday season.
Oklahoma City Thunder basketball player Josh Huestis helped double the amount of families helped this year.
Firefighter Tucker Cook explained that GFFR raises the money for the gifts and meals at the Christmas Stroll and then personally delivers the baskets to families.
"We buy Christmas presents for a bunch of different families and they get a basket full of stuff for Christmas dinner," he said. "It's a cool program."
Jeanne Thibert agreed.
"It's been a really hard, trying year," she said. "It's amazing. We can now have a dinner and enjoy it."
