One Class At A Time: Broadwater Elementary School

Riann Sexton is helping to keep her students engaged in the classroom - and she is this week's One Class At A Time recipient.

First Interstate Bank and KXLH recently surprised Sexton’s class at Broadwater Elementary School with a $250 check.

Sexton will use the money to buy materials to make science, engineering, technology, and math (STEM) bins for her kindergarten class.

The STEM bins will contain task cards that feature a variety of basic real world structures to inspire students to build with the materials in the bins like Legos, popsicle sticks, and Play-dough.

I’m hoping that when kids are finished with their work they’ll have something more meaningful to do,” said Sexton, “[and] foster the creativity they already have.”

Sexton says that the kits are a great way to engage students that may have finished the other projects early.
