The Lodgepole Complex consists of four fires burning in eastern Montana, which have collectively scorched an estimated 69,808 acres as of Friday evening.
The Bridge Coulee Fire was discovered Wednesday afternoon, 16 miles north of Mosby. The fire is estimated at 50,000 acres as of Friday afternoon. This fire has crossed the Musselshell River into Petroleum County.
The Barker Fire, located 20 miles north of Sand Springs is estimated at 12,000 acres as of Friday afternoon.
The South Breaks Fire is estimated at 7,000 acres. That fire is located 27 miles northeast of Mosby.
The Square Butte Fire, located 19 miles north of Sand Springs is 808 acres.
On Friday evening, Residents are being ordered to evacuate the entire area north of Highway 200 from the Petroleum County Line and West of Edwards Road due to the threat from the Lodgepole Complex.
The evacuation area includes:
-- Big Bart Coulee
-- Haley Coulee
-- Benzien School Area
-- Benzien Road all the way to Steve Forks Road
-- Battle Coulee Area
The Garfield County Disaster & Emergency Services agency released the following information:
Shelter will be assisted by Red Cross coming from Roundup and located at VFW Hall. Showers available at school by first arrival calling Fitzgerald to open location. Senior center is also open. All emergency situations- please utilize Sheriff Dispatch. Evacs ordered by BLM and Miles City Dispatch. Please call neighbors and get out to ensure human safety.
