GREAT FALLS -

(JULY 20, 2017) The U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron - better known as the Thunderbirds - arrived in Great Falls on Monday to prep for this weekend's air show.

On Thursday, several of the F-16 fighter jets could be seen (and heard) roaring over the skies of Great Falls as they get ready for their performance.

One of their passengers during Thursday's flight was KRTV reporter Margaret DeMarco.

After donning a flight suit and being briefed on what to expect during the flight, Margaret climbed aboard and took the sky, as her pilot performed many of the same maneuvers that will be performed during Saturday's air show. At one point during the flight, Margaret experienced the equivalent of 9.3 "G's" -- which means 9.3 times the normal gravitational pull of daily life on the ground.

The air show will be held at the Great Falls International Airport (Air National Guard area).

Gates will open at 9:30 on Saturday, with aerial demonstrations scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. The Thunderbirds performance is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

The schedule and performances will repeat on Sunday at the same times.

Other performers at the air show include Firewalkers International Pyro, the Shetterly Squadron, and the Wings of the Blue.
