GREAT FALLS -

There were several fatal crashes across Montana over the weekend.

This brings the year-to-date number of people killed in crashes in Montana to 94.

A Fairview man died after his pickup truck rolled early Sunday morning in far eastern Montana.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the Dodge Dakota pickup was northbound on Highway 162 north of Fairview.

The driver failed to negotiate a left turn and overturned, landing upside down in an irrigation canal.

The 27-year-old driver and a 27-year-old woman, also from Fairview, were not wearing seatbelts.

Both were taken to the Sidney hospital. The man was pronounced dead while the woman was treated for her injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

Alcohol is suspected to be a factor, according to the crash report.

The name of the victim has not yet been released.

One person died and five others were taken to Missoula hospitals after a Sunday crash west of Lolo.

The Missoula County Sheriff's Office reports the crash happened on U.S. Highway 12 near mile marker 27 just after 11:45 a.m. on Sunday.

The driver of an eastbound vehicle crossed the center line and hit a westbound vehicle carrying a family of five head-on, according to authorities.

The person in the eastbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The name of the victim has not yet been released pending notification of family.

The Montana Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

One person died Sunday afternoon in a rollover crash near East Missoula.

The vehicle rolled several times down an embankment before coming to rest on its hood.
