(JULY 8, 2017) A baby died after being injured in a crash west of Bozeman on Friday.
The crash happened at about 5:40 p.m. on Friday on 1-90 at mile marker 282 near Logan.
According to Montana Highway Patrol Sergeant Pat McLaughlin, a family was traveling west when the driver lost control for unknown reasons.
The vehicle went into the median where it rolled several times. The infant and one of the parents were thrown from the vehicle.
The baby was taken to the hospital, but died from the injuries.
The Montana Highway Patrol said on Saturday that the coroner was called this morning to confirm the death.
Authorities have not released the names of the family members at this point.
They do not believe that speed, alcohol, or weather were factors in the crash.
MTN has not yet been able to confirm whether the parents were wearing seatbelts, but several sources have indicated that the baby was not properly restrained at the time of the crash.
