1 woman killed in vehicle crash near Marion

Posted: Updated:

One woman is dead after a multi-vehicle crash near Marion just before 3 p.m. Friday.

Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Josh Nanna says the crash happened at the intersection of Gopher Lane and U.S. Highway 2 West.

Nanna says one woman was driving a car that crossed over the centerline on Highway 2 and crashed head-on into a dump truck.

She died from the collision. The driver of the truck was reportedly not seriously injured.

There was a third vehicle involved in the incident that was driving behind the vehicle that crashed into the dump truck. Nanna did not have any information about the extent of the injuries of those inside that vehicle.

He says initial reports reveal alcohol, drugs and speed are not likely factors in this accident.

Officials are not releasing the name of the woman involved and are working to clarify her age and hometown.
