DUI suspect may have been involved in Gibson Park incident

GREAT FALLS -

Douglas Bearchild was arrested on Sunday night in Browning on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Details of the arrest have not yet been released, but the Great Falls Police Department says that Bearchild, 29 years old, may have been involved in an altercation at Gibson Park on Sunday afternoon. 

In that incident, a pedestrian reportedly was hit by a vehicle.

The GFPD said on Sunday night that no one was seriously hurt, and no one was taken to the hospital.

Justin Meadows posted on the KRTV Facebook page that a driver in an SUV "flipped around and tried to run...over" a person. Almost hit me and my kid and my GF. He just got side swiped, and they took off."

The GFPD has not confirmed any witness statements, nor provided any other details at this point.

(SUNDAY, MARCH 26) The Great Falls Police Department is investigating after a pedestrian reportedly was hit by a vehicle at or near Gibson Park on Sunday.

KRTV was first alerted to the incident at about 3:45 p.m. when people reported seeing several police cars in the area.

The GFPD says that no one was seriously hurt, and no one was taken to the hospital.

At this point, there have been no arrests.
