Charles Pettibone, a registered violent offender and Tier 3 sex offender, was recently released from the Montana State Hospital in Warm Springs and is currently residing in Great Falls.
According to the Montana Department of Corrections, Pettibone was convicted in Cascade County for indecent exposure, partner/family member assault, and criminal endangerment. He also has a conviction in Judith Basin County for criminal endangerment.
Pettibone is listed on the Montana Sexual & Violent Offender Registry as a "sexually violent predator," and is categorized as "Tier 3" offender.
The SVOR defines a "sexually violent predator" as a person convicted of a sexual offense and who suffers from a condition that makes them likely to engage in predatory sexual offenses, or offenders 18 years of age or older who have committed an offense against a victim 12 years of age or younger
