Young women and teens from all over the state came to Missoula over the weekend to compete for this year’s Miss Montana USA and Miss Montana Teen USA titles.
The girls got up at 5 a.m. on Sunday to start rehearsing and getting ready for the long day ahead.
Contestants participated in various seminars during the event, such as self-esteem enhancing discussions, photo shoots and rehearsals.
They also learned about scholarship opportunities and bonded with each other.
The three rounds of the competition included interview, swimsuit, and evening gown.
The pageant is an opportunity for the girls to improve their confidence and interview skills needed for today’s demanding goals and challenges.
“I feel so proud of myself, and I had so many great contestants competing against me and I’m proud of every single one of them and I’m really proud of myself,” said Elle Cook, who was crowned as Miss Montana Teen USA. Cook is from Yellowstone County.
“Work hard, it definitely pays off. Always believe in yourself, always be optimistic, easy-going, I swear, if anything’s troubling you, it’s going to get better. Walking in heals was troubling me and look where I am now,” said Brooke Bezanson, the Miss Montana USA winner. Bezanson is from Missoula County.
The two will go on to compete in the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA Pageants.
