The roar of jet planes over Great Falls caught some people by surprise on Monday evening, and if they looked to the sky quickly enough, they discovered the source: the U.S. Navy's Blue Angels paid a brief visit to town.
Todd Smith, a photographer in Great Falls, caught some photos of the planes and shared them on his website; he wrote:
The Navy's Blue Angels stopped in town this evening, I'm guessing to get fuel before they head to their next performance in Anchorage, Alaska. I was lucky enough to get up to the airport in time to see them take off. Here are a few of the pictures I took. - Todd
The aerial demonstration team (Boeing F/A-18 Hornets) wrapped up a performance at an air show in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on Sunday.
The Blue Angels' next performance will be at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska, on July 30th.
