2 people flee after crashing car on Grizzly Gulch Drive

The Montana Highway Patrol is trying to find the occupants of a car that crashed and rolled southwest of Helena on Wednesday.

The crash happened at about 2 p.m. on Grizzly Gulch Drive.

An eyewitness told MTN News that the west-bound car was out of control on a curve and it was headed right toward her. 

She said that that she had to brake to avoid a head-on collision.

The car swerved to the right side of the road, over-corrected, and rolled, coming to rest upside-down.

The eyewitness said that two people fled the scene in another vehicle.

MHP Trooper Alicia Williams says speed was a factor in the crash.

UPDATE: Trooper Williams says that the two people in the vehicle were found at their residence a short time after the crash.

The 18-year old female driver and 22-year old male passenger were cited for several violations, Including reckless driving, failure to report a crash, and failure to remain at the scene.

Their names have not been released at this point.
