HELENA -

Andrew James Hohn of Helena, accused of sexually assaulting a seven-year old girl, made his initial appearance in court on Wednesday afternoon.

Hohn, 28 years old, was arrested on Tuesday night following a report that a girl had been sexually assaulted at the Capital City Health Club.

Court documents say a witness saw Hohn follow the child into the family bathroom area.

The witness found the activity suspicious and knocked on the locked bathroom door.

Hohn opened the door and the witness saw the girl with Hohn.

Hohn told the witness that he didn't know that the girl was in the bathroom, and then fled the club through a rear door.

The victim told investigators that Hohn kissed her on the mouth and forced her to have sexual contact with him.

Hohn allegedly told the victim that he’d kill her and her family if she told anyone.

Police used video surveillance and Hohn’s club membership information to track him down.

Bond for Hohn was set at $500,000.

(Tuesday, 10:05 p.m.) At about 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, the dispatch center in Helena was contacted by a staff member of the Capital City Health Club who said that a juvenile female had been sexually assaulted by a man in one of the facility's restrooms.

Officers and detectives responded to investigate and learned the man had left the facility after being confronted by a family member of the victim.

Working with descriptions of the suspect from customers of the club, and with club staff members, the suspect was identified.

Officers and detectives went to the suspect's home, along with searching for possible vehicles the suspect may have been driving.

Officers detained the suspect, and search warrants are being served.

The Helena Police Department has not yet released the name of the suspect, nor the specific nature of the assault, but said that additional details would be released on Wednesday.
