Helena police officers and Lewis & Clark County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man on Saturday suspected of robbing a pizza restaurant and casino.

The HPD says that 27-year-old Kolby Schmidt had a warrant out for his arrest in connection with robberies that happened on Wednesday.

Schmidt is accused of robbing Village Inn Pizza and Montana's Lils Casino in East Helena on Wednesday.

Schmidt was arrested without incident.

He was booked into the Lewis & Clark County jail and is charged with two counts of robbery.

(MAY 19, 2016) On Wednesday, May 18th, at about 1:44 a.m., the Helena Police Department was notified by employees of Village Inn Pizza at 1830 Prospect Avenue that the business had been robbed.

Investigators learned that a man had shown an employee a note demanding money and also displayed a black handgun.

After taking money from the business, the man drove away in a vehicle which had been parked in the parking lot.  The vehicle was later found by officers several blocks from the scene.

At about 5:29 a.m., East Helena Police and Lewis & Clark County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Montana Lil’s Casino at 100 South Lane in East Helena after it was reported the business had been robbed.

An employee of the business said that a man had presented a note demanding money and fled with a sum of cash.

Officers and deputies are currently searching for the man shown in the attached surveillance photos in the casinos.

Authorities say that the suspects should be considered armed and dangerous, and anyone who sees them should not approach or attempt to detain them.
