HELENA -

More than 140 vendors from across the Treasure State set up shop in Helena on Saturday, selling an array of Montana-made products.

The second day day of the 2016 Made in Montana Trade Show attracted hundreds of people to the Lewis and Clark County Fairgrounds.

Food and gifts flooded the exhibit hall. Products included dazzling jewelry, authentically-made hot sauces and jams and hand-crafted ornaments.

The goal of the trade show is to bring Montana businesses and consumers together putting emphasis on "Buy Local."

Jim McDaniel, a Helena resident, said, "When you support the local or the Montana products, it creates jobs and helps the Montana economy."

Jack Spinner traveled from Havre to support his friend, who handcrafts seasonal ornaments. Spinner believes there’s something special about buying local versus buying factory-produced products.

Spinner said, “Even though you may be making 500 of the same item, you're still part of each and every item. It's not like mass produced that comes out the end of a machine and it goes into a box and it's shipped on to some worldwide organization.”

The Made in Montana Trade show has been running for the past 14 years.
