Johnelle Howanach and her daughter Melissa Clark say that Beach's release has been a long time coming.
"I was overjoyed and started crying because we have been waiting for this and working for this for so long. We have been close before and some crazy little latch comes up and we are right back to ground zero," Howanach said.
In Great ,Falls the group "Barry Beach Supporters" were amazed when they got the call that he would be released.
The group formed in 2013 and every Wednesday they have walked the Central West Bridge to bring awareness to his case.
Howanach says the process brings integrity back to Montana's legal system.
"We have had a black eye ever since Barry has been in prison. This means that we now can be proud and we can say maybe the wheels of justice turn pretty slow but they do work," Howanach said.
The group is not sure what they will do next but they say that right now is a time to celebrate.
