Lehrkamp appears on charges of assault with a weapon, partner family member assault

HELENA -- Scott Alan Lehrkamp, 31 of East Helena, appeared in Lewis & Clark County District court on charges of assault with a weapon and partner/family member assault. 

Lehrkamp was arraigned on the charges Thursday morning.

Lehrkamp entered pleas of not guilty on all charges; which stem from in incident in May of last year, when law enforcement officers say he got into an argument with his girlfriend.

When she threatened to call 911, Lehrkamp allegedly took her cell phone and threw it against a wall.

He's then accused of throwing a dumbbell at the victim, pushing a lit cigarette into her shoulder, and slamming her against a wall with a workout bench. 

Lehrkamp's trial has been set for May 26.

Lehrkamp was convicted in December for felony assault,stemming from a different incident, following a jury trial.



(December 16, 2014) Scott Lehrkamp of East Helena was found guilty on Tuesday of felony assault with a weapon following a day and a half trial.

After deliberating for about two hours, a jury convicted Lehrkamp of assaulting a woman in June of this year, stealing her wallet and a knife, using her car without her permission, and driving with a suspended license.

He was found not guilty of possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Lehrkamp will be sentenced in January.

He also faces two felony charges of assault with a weapon and felony partner family member assault for an incident in May.


(July 10, 2014) Scott Alan Lehrkamp of Helena, accused of assaulting his girlfriend and taking her wallet and car in June, entered not guilty pleas on Wednesday.

Lehrkamp is accused of throwing a chair at his girlfriend's head during an argument during the early morning hours of June 2nd. 

The victim in the case told officers that she was afraid that Lehrkamp was going to kill her.

Lehrkamp pleaded not guilty to felony assault with a weapon and a string of other charges, including unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and theft.

Trial in the case has been set for October 20th.

Lehrkamp is also accused of violating probation from another case.
