HELENA -- Montana Superintendent of Public Instruction Denise Juneau delivered her State of Education Address on Monday.

Juneau pushed for legislative measures that she says would enhance Montana's education system.

Juneau spoke before a joint session of the Legislature, praising the Graduation Matters program.

The state's graduation rate increased from 80.7 percent in 2009 to 85.4 percent in 2014.

She also echoed her support for raising the legal dropout age to 18 and providing funding for 19-year-old high school students.

Early childhood education was also addressed. Juneau noted the importance of providing Montana's youth an opportunity at learning various life skills before heading into kindergarten.

Juneau said,"We must all do our part to support them. When we ensure that each student is provided with an opportunity to receive a quality public education that is how we make the future better."
