A woman was shot twice Saturday morning in front of Taco Bell in the parking lot of the Gallatin Valley Mall in Bozeman.
Nathaniel John Budd of Livingston, 22, has been arrested in connection with the shooting.
Budd was booked in Gallatin County following the incident and charged with two counts of attempted deliberate homicide.
Authorities responded to the shooting at around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday.
The victim, 24, and her driver, a 27-year old man, had been in an argument with Budd when Budd allegedly fired three shots at the couple's vehicle.
Two of those shots hit the woman and one struck the car.
Lt. Steve Crawford of the Bozeman Police Department says authorities were able to apprehend Budd on 19th Avenue as he was attempting to enter the freeway.
The woman was transported to Bozeman Deaconess for her injuries and has since been released.
Crawford says there is no evidence of drug use and while some level of alcohol was present, he does not believe it to be a defining factor in the shooting.
Crawford also says there is no known connection between the two parties.
The identity of the woman has not been released.
Budd will make his initial appearence in justice court on Monday where a bond will likely be set.
