Trailer fire burning at Holter Lake

(UPDATE, 10:00 p.m.) DNRC spokesman John Grassy has clarified that the fire near the Log Gulch Recreation area at Holter Lake did not spread into surrounding wildland.

Grassy said that the fire that began in a trailer engulfed two more trailers.

At this time Lewis & Clark County fire crews are mopping up the fire.

There is still no word on the cause of the fire.


(FIRST REPORT, 8:42 PM) A fire that began in a trailer has engulfed surrounding trailers and is now burning into the surrounding area near the Log Gulch Recreation area at Holter Lake, according to Department of Natural Resources & Conservation spokesperson John Grassy.

It is unknown yet how big the fire is.

There are no reports of injuries at this time.

The fire was reported at around 8 p.m. and responders are coming from volunteer fire departments across the area, including Cascade and Lewis & Clark Counties, along with crews from DNRC, adds Grassy.
