Townsend cat survives being shot with arrow

TOWNSEND - A cat is lucky to be alive after surviving being shot by an arrow in Townsend over the weekend.

Tommy Freeman says that on Saturday, August 17th, someone shot an arrow at the family cat, Ninja.

The arrow went straight threw its ear and out the back of its neck.

Freeman said that his wife heard the cat screech in pain, and when he went outside, he saw the cat with an arrow sticking through its ear and out the back of his neck.

The Freemans contacted the Broadwater County Sheriff's Office to report the incident.

A short time later, Ninja ran away, but returned later on that night, and the Freemans were amazed to see that Ninja had managed to remove the arrow.

The Freemans notified law enforcement about the incident, and then rushed Ninja to a veterinarian, who treated the cat's wounds.

Freeman says that Ninja will be OK, but does have a hole in his ear and the back of his neck.

If anyone has information about the incident, they are asked to call the Broadwater County Sheriff's Office at 406-266-3441.
