Three people scored big paydays recently in the Montana Lottery.
Marilyn Peterson of Hardin won $130,000 in the Wild Card jackpot during the September 3 drawing. Peterson bought her winning ticket at Dollie's in Hardin.
Marilyn said she plays all the games twice a week, sometimes playing quick picks and sometimes her own numbers. "It's been a fun weekend," she said, as she presented her winning ticket at Lottery Headquarters in Helena on Tuesday. Peterson said she'll help out her two sons, do some home repairs, and save some money.
Also on Tuesday, Clay Tenderholt of Billings claimed his $115,000 prize from Saturday's Montana Cash $230,000 jackpot.
Tenderholt's ticket was one of two that matched all five Montana Cash numbers for a total jackpot of $230,000.
Tenderholt bought his winning ticket at a ConoMart Super Store on Main Street in Billings. The Montana Cash player holding the other ticket has not yet stepped forward; that ticket was purchased at The Ranch Hand in Eureka.
The $230,000 jackpot was an unusual occurrence in the 20-year-old game. The last time the jackpot exceeded the $200,000 mark was in 2008, and only six other jackpots reached the $200,000 level. The highest jackpot, $280,000, occurred in 2007, when William Tweedy of Cut Bank was the single winner of the record prize
