Glen Teeters of Alberton has been recognized as the Montana School Bus Driver of the Year for 2012-2013.
Teeters, 69 years old, has been ferrying students safely for 41 years, and was honored on Thursday by the Montana Highway Patrol and the Office of Public Instruction.
Teeters has never had an accident while transporting students for the district.
He received the surprise award at the Montana Association of Pupil Transportation's annual conference in Helena.
Montana Highway Patrol Sergeant Jay Nelson said the importance of giving this award out is to recognize those people that are safe on Montana's roads and who take the safety of our children as number one.
The school districts nominate the individuals; Alberton Schools said Teeters is the pride of their district.
