An out-of-state visitor to Great Falls had a rude awakening recently after a thief made off with thousands of dollars in parts from his truck.

Great Falls police released video surveillance footage on Tuesday that was taken during the early morning hours of July 25th in the parking lot of the Hilton Garden Inn, located near the Great Falls Marketplace.

The driver of a newer-model red or orange Ford extended cab truck is seen taking the tailgate and other electronic equipment off of a similar truck.

The suspect vehicle appears to possibly be two-tone or have lighter-color fender flares.

Police estimate the value of the stolen property at about $6,000.
