Search continues for Angelica Gray of Helena

An exhaustive search has Helena authorities still baffled over the suspicious disappearance of Angelica Melody Gray, a 22-year old Helena mother of two.

The last known sighting of Gray was on Tuesday night on a surveillance video near the YWCA, where she and her children have been staying.

It was 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday when Helena police received a call from the YWCA, asking for help in locating Gray.

She was last seen by her pickup truck; the child car seats were left outside the truck, and her children, ages 3 years and 9 months, were inside the YWCA. Gray's purse, and cell phone were also left behind.

Kellie Goodwin McBride, the director of the YWCA, said, "She loves her children, her children love her, they are safe, I will say that. They are safe right now, and this this is out of character for what we've seen here at the YWCA."

Authorities combed a five-block radius on Wednesday evening.

A surveillance video shows Gray leaving her pickup truck late Tuesday night.

Helena Police Chief Troy McGee said, "And about 11:45 she was seen in the video walking up and down Placer and the last thing you can see on the video she's at approximately Placer and Fuller. Not sure which direction she goes after that. Just an update on her clothing, in the video it appears she's wearing a black winter puffy-type jacket with a hood and jeans. So a little bit different description than we had before."

Posters will soon be circulated around town, hoping that someone may have seen Gray, or knows her whereabouts.

Goodwin-McBride said, "We are working with Ryan United which is a national organization devoted to finding missing people so that we can make sure that Angelica's face is out there and seen. Whatever we can do to get her back. We just need to get her, we need her back."

Derek VanLuchene of Ryan United says the first few hours of any missing persons case are critical. and that's why it's important that if anyone has any information about Angelica, they should contact authorities as soon as possible.

If you would like to help distribute posters, Kellie says you can contact the YWCA at 442-8774

McGee asks that if any other businesses in the area have outside video cameras, to please give them a call to see if they might track down her next moves; call Lt. Curt Stinson at 447-8246.

Anyone with information about Angelica is asked to call the Helena Police Department at 406-442-3233, Crimestoppers at 406-443-2000, or their local law enforcement agency.
