Report shows Montana has highest DUI fatality rate in U.S. for 2012

A new report released Thursday from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) details that in 2012, Montana had the highest percentage of alcohol-related driving fatalities in the nation with a rate of 44%.

In 2011, Montana was at 39% - an 8.5% increase between 2011 and 2012.

Nationally, the percentage of alcohol-related driving fatalities in 2012 was at 31%.

That's a 4.6% increase over the year before.

The report also cites that there were 10,322 alcohol-related driving fatalities in the nation in 2012.
