Radley Elementary School in East Helena has been recognized for academic achievement.
The school was given the "Closing The Achievement Gap" honor at the annual OPI Title One conference.
Title One funds provide more support and learning opportunities to help students from economically-challenged homes.
With almost 500 students, about 40% of Radley's students come from economically disadvantaged homes.
Radley was recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in 2007.
Radley's school-wide "Walk to Read" program includes 90 minutes of uninterrupted reading instruction at all grade levels, as well as up to 75 minutes of math instruction daily.
