Adam Jorgenson, a 7th-grade student at Montana City school, shot his first bow about the same time he started elementary school; now, years later, Adam is shooting targets as a part of Mr. Maxwell's gym class.

The Lewis & Clark Chapter of the Mule Deer Foundation donated $2,500 to Montana City School to help purchase the archery kits.

Last year the Foundation sold raffle tickets to fund the donation, and this year they are continuing the tradition to equip another school with gear.

Archery students hit the bullseye

Steve Miller of the Mule Deer Foundation said, "I think it's just a good idea to give them some versatility, give them some other options just besides being that great basketball player, they can be just a regular kid and be a great archery person."

The program aims to teach kids a variety of skills including confidence, concentration, and hand-eye coordination.

Adam offered some advice to other archery students: "Try to focus and take your time, that's the thing that helps most is taking your time and aiming."

The Mule Deer Foundation is going to hold an annual raffle where they give away a special hunt for youth.
