Man and dog rescued after truck goes into river in Great Falls

GREAT FALLS -- A man and his dog were rescued from the Missouri River in Great Falls on Friday after their pickup truck wound up partially-submerged in the water.

It happened along Bay Drive on the west side of the river, south of the Central Avenue Bridge, on Friday evening.

Emergency crews were able to get the driver out of the truck and out of the water, and he was taken to Benefis hospital; his current medical condition is not known.

The man also had a dog in the truck, and we're told that the dog is fine.

Initial reports indicate that the man failed to negotiate the curve in the road, and the truck wound up partially submerged in the river.
