Authorities say a 41-year-old man from Kalispell died in a one-vehicle crash that happened near Avon early Sunday morning,
Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Tammy Perkins says the accident, which was most likely caused by slippery roads, happened on U.S. Highway 12 sometime before 6 a.m.
The man was driving east near mile marker 14 when he lost control, causing the car to spin out on the slick road and then skid off the road.
MHP reports that the vehicle rolled over several times before coming to a stop against a railroad embankment.
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected.
The name of the man killed in the crash has not been released.
