Hoyd pleads not guilty to assault on a minor

HELENA - Patrick Lucas Hoyd of East Helena, who faces up to 45 years in prison for allegedly spanking a 10-year old with a belt, pleaded not guilty on Wednesday.

Hoyd is charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, and assault on a minor.

The alleged incidents occurred in the summer of 2013 while the boy was staying with Hoyd and his girlfriend, Veronica Ouldhouse.

She pleaded not guilty to similar charges last week.

Hoyd remains in jail on a $50,000 bond.

His trial has been set for May 12th.


(December 19, 2013) Patrick Lucas Hoyd has been arrested and charged in connection with assaulting a 10-year old boy in East Helena over the summer.

Hoyd is charged with two counts of assault with a weapon for allegedly spanking the boy with a belt; he is also charged with a assault on a minor.

The alleged incidents occurred between June 20th and September 15th while the boy was staying with Hoyd and his girlfriend, Veronica Ouldhouse.

Ouldhouse, 18 years old, was charged last week with assaulting the boy.

The boy was staying with the couple in the absence of his father, who was working in North Dakota.

Hoyd faces a maximum of 45 years in prison if convicted.

He is in jail on a $50,000 bond.
