David Gary Burton, accused of holding up a Helena casino clerk at gunpoint, pleaded not guilty in District Court on Friday.

Burton, 34, is charged with the armed robbery of Bowser's Lucky Dog Casino in mid-December.

Burton allegedly walked away with more than $9,000 in cash.

He allegedly stole a 1999 white van from King Lewey's Auto to commit the crime and then brought the vehicle back.

Court documents state that Burton used a stolen credit card from a residence to pay for gas in the vehicle prior to the robbery.

Burton also pleaded not guilty to two burglaries, two thefts, as well as one count of deceptive practices, in several other cases.
He is still in jail on a $100,000 bond.

His trial date has been set for April 23rd.

The armed robbery charge carries a maximum 40 years in prison, with a minimum of two years, and fines up to $50,000.
