HELENA - It may be mid-winter, but many people are thinking about hitting the lake this summer at the annual Helena Boat Show at the Lewis & Clark County Fairgrounds.
New this year are fresh colors and new floor plans on popular boats.
An organizer from the Montana Boat Center said that there are usually around 80 boats sold at the three-day event each year.
He adds that the nice weather Saturday gave a boost to attendance.
"You know, it gets people geared up for the summer, plus it takes about 6-to-8 weeks to get a boat if somebody doesn't like what I have in stock, so you've got to order one. So, you've got to think a little early. The boat companies all put an incentive out to get people to do something, because otherwise there would be no real reason to do it," said Tom Rispens, president of the Montana Boat Center, 2531 North Montana Avenue.
The Helena Boat Show will be open again to the public Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Admission is $3 at the doors. Kids under 12 are free.
