Finding the prime location for a future business or development is easier than ever in Great Falls, thanks to the launch of a new interactive website called the Great Falls Prospector.

The internet mapping program displays available buildings and land in our region, and also provides demographic reports to give developers a clear picture of the area's workforce, wages, and the distance to services such as railroads or the nearest airport.

Brett Doney, presidents of the GFDAThe Great Falls Development Authority launched the local version of the site this week.

They say the community must have strong web presence, as consultants rely less on personal communication and more on the internet when looking for a place to set up shop.

Brett Doney, presidents of the GFDA, noted, "We've been working with a site selector down in Phoenix that started looking for their client at 3,600 communities and narrowed it down to now we're one of the top three. They didn't contact us until they were down into the top ten."
