The Great Falls Ad Club has announced that it will not have a live auction event during next year's Western Art Week.

In a letter to Ad Club members, president Jack May noted the decision was driven by the organization's break with the C.M. Russell Museum, as well as a "definite shift" in the Ad Club's long-running C.M. Russell Art Auction.

The letter states that the 2010 auction was not profitable for the Ad Club, and says that "conducting another live auction is not our Club's best interest at this time."

The letter also notes that two Ad Club positions have been eliminated: Auction Director, and Auction Art Director.

This was the first year that the C.M. Russell Museum and the Great Falls Ad Club did not team up for the annual C.M. Russell Art Auction. The two organizations parted ways several months ago and decided to each hold their own auctions.
