We have received several reports of a fire burning near Townsend.
Brendalee Buckmaster shared this photo with us.
Initial reports indicate that it is burning near the lime plant along Indian Creek Road.
The fire was first reported at about 3 p.m.
Broadwater County officials tell us that no structures are threatened at this time, and that fire crews are at the scene.
The size of the fire is not yet known, nor is the cause.
We have dispatched KXLH reporter Evan Weborg to learn more and we will keep you updated.
UPDATE, 6:22 pm: the fire is now at 400 acres - here is the latest information.
Stage One fire restrictions were implemented at 6 p.m. on Saturday night for Broadwater, Jefferson, and Lewis & Clark counties.
DNRC officials say that the restrictions prohibit building, attending, or maintaining an open fire or campfire, including fires in fire rings at developed campsites.
Also prohibited is the use of fireworks and smoking outside of a vehicle unless parked in an area free of all flammable materials.
