Get ready for an extended period of relatively quiet weather under the Big Sky.
This evening, skies will clear as a strong area of high pressure works its way in.
With areas of high pressure, the air tends to sink, which doesn't aid in the development of clouds.
So, you'll find plenty of sunshine in the forecast for the weekend.
Chilly air will roll in tonight as that ridge of high pressure moves south out of Canada.
By Friday morning, temperatures will be in the teens and single digits in most areas.
Also, we'll be on the lookout for areas of freezing fog overnight.
Some patchy fog is possible in Helena, but the worst of the fog should develop south of the capital city.
A Canadian cold front will dip south into Montana, bringing a brief opportunity for light snow in parts of the state.
But, at this time, we are not anticipating any precipitation in Helena.
