A young boy drowned in Helena at Spring Meadow Lake on Sunday evening.
Authorities responded just after 5:30 pm after receiving a report of a boy who had slipped under the water and didn't re-surface.
Helena Fire, Helena Police, and Lewis & Clark County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched.
Search & Rescue was able to recover the body of the 5-year old boy.
Resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.
The boy's body has been transported to St. Peter's Hospital under the care of the Lewis & Clark County Coroner.
Authorities have not released the name of the child, nor any other details at this point.

(Monday, 9:15 am) Patrick Thomas Morrow has been identified as the 5-year old boy who drowned in Spring Meadow Lake on Sunday evening.
The Lewis & Clark County Coroner will officially determine the cause of death, which is believed to be an accidental drowning.
The drowning occurred at around 5:40 p.m. on Sunday when the boy was found in the water and unable to be revived.
Lewis & Clark County Sheriff Leo Dutton says his investigation team will work on the circumstances surrounding the death of the child, and extends his sympathy to the family for the unfortunate and tragic incident.
