The long lines at the Post Office in Helena on Monday aren't because of the deadline for tax day, but for Easter packages.
However, this is the last day to postmark federal and state taxes nationwide.
Helena postal workers saw more packages, but there were a few envelopes being mailed out to the IRS.
The Post Office drop boxes will be accepting mail until midnight, but the window hours for postage will be closed by 6:00 this evening.
Janet Harris, the customer supervisors at the facility, noted, "We really haven't seen a lot today. Friday, Saturday we were busy, quite busy, so maybe some people don't know about the extension until today. But we will be open until midnight."
Harris reminds people to make sure their return address label is on their tax returns and if not sending it certified to make sure there is enough postage.
The IRS deadline was extended three days this year due to a holiday in the District of Columbia.
